Hmm, that title sounded better in my head. Both of June’s backlog titles start with the letter “S,” so I thought I could be clever and combine the two somehow. May revise later. Moving on to June’s selections!
Short Game

Steam Store Description: “Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is the complete Shovel Knight collection, containing all 5 games in the epic saga! Dig, blast, slash, and bash your way through a fantastical, 8-bit inspired world of pixel-perfect platforming, memorable characters, and world-class action-adventure gameplay.”
I don’t remember how far I got into this game exactly. Certainly not past the first boss at least. I probably got distracted by shiny objects, as is my way. A pity I only have this on PC, as that renders my knight amiibo useless.

Long Game

Nintendo Eshop Description: “Join Mario on a massive, globe-trotting 3D adventure and use his incredible new abilities to collect Moons so you can power up your airship, the Odyssey, and rescue Princess Peach from Bowser’s wedding plans! This sandbox-style 3D Mario adventure—the first since 1996’s beloved Super Mario 64 and 2002’s Nintendo GameCube classic Super Mario Sunshine—is packed with secrets and surprises, and with Mario’s new moves like cap throw, cap jump, and capture, you’ll have fun and exciting gameplay experiences unlike anything you’ve enjoyed in a Mario game before. Get ready to be whisked away to strange and amazing places far from the Mushroom Kingdom!”
I know I jumped on the Switch bandwagon a bit late, but this was one of the first games I got for it. I also did not get very far into it, so I won’t feel bad about starting over.
Alright, I have my marching orders. Let’s see what I can get done while working my summer hours!
